About Stephen Smith

Stephen Smith has 30 years experience in the coal
industry with the Tennessee Valley Authority and as an independent
consultant. During this time, he traveled the United States inspecting
and testing coal sampling systems, was on the design team and was lead
chemist of the TVA Central Coal Laboratory. He also has published papers on:
- Field testing of EPRI’s Coal Quality Impact Model
- Coal stockpile density testing
- Control of mercury emissions from fluid bed combustors
- On-line nuclear analysis of coal
He knows an awful lot about coal.
